復元元のユニコーン タペストリー

先日のブログで、イギリスのスターリング城で、ユニコーンのタペストリーの復元が行われていると書きました。

復元の元になったタペストリーはてっきりスターリング城にあると思っていたら、アメリカのメトロポリタン　ミュージアム　オブ　アート別館のクロイスターズ美術館にあるそうです。

７枚のシリーズだそう。

ロックフェラー　ジュニアがフランスから購入したものだそうです。

The tapestries were owned by the La Rochefoucauld family of France for several centuries. John D. Rockefeller, Jr. bought them in 1922 for about one million United States dollars and donated them to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1937. They now hang in The Cloisters which houses the museum's medieval collection.

今日たまたま「ハリーポッターと謎のプリンス」をみていたら、ユニコーンが柵にいれられているタペストリーがうつっていました。
映画の後半のハリーとドラコ・マルフォイが対決して、マルフォイが血まみれで倒れたシーンのあと、必要の部屋に向かうシーンでうつっていました。
